Trail Conditions

Alpenglow Rentals has over 8 years of experience safely guiding our customers onto some of the best Jeep trails in Colorado. Utilizing our local knowledge, current weather conditions and getting out on the trails regularly allows us to give you the most accurate information available. Below are our current recommendations. October 27th, 2023

Our Crested Butte location is closed for the winter, but still going in our Gunnison location. Most trails are still open, while keeping off the high altitudes as we are expecting snow this weekend.

August 1st, 2023

We are 100% open, as for all the trails in which we allow our Jeeps to go, are all good to go!

June 22nd, 2023

The Crested Butte zone is starting to open up. Currently we can safely get to the waterfall on Slate River Road and to the creek on West Bruch Creek road, for example. Now that summer has officially started, we are seeing much warmer temperatures and the snow is melting quickly. So we’re excited to open up more and more terrain as the days go by.

July 13th, 2022

Schofield Pass is open, the snow pile east of Emerald lake has finally melted. Providing access to the full “go-to-loop” route, the top of Schofield pass and East Maroon Pass Trailhead. Access to the Rustler’s Gulch trailhead is also open and ready to go.

July 1st, 2022

Paradise Divide is open via Slate River Road and/or Washington Gulch Road.

June 1st, 2022

Engineers and Cinnamon Passes are open and ready to go. They are part of the Alpine Loop group of passes and trails starting out of Lake City, Colorado.
